Computer Aided Electric Scooter

The goal of the team was to design an electrical, affordable, lightweight and modular scooter for an average adult weighing 80kg on Solidworks. The project includes justification of material selection using sustainability and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tool in Solidworks. Also included the preparation of engineering drawing documentation to Australian standard AS1100.

Responsibilities & Achievements

  • As the first major assignment for second year engineering students, the principle goal of the project was to learn project management and design, and material engineering by developing and evaluating concept matrix.
  • Successfully developed 3D rendering and animation skills on Solidworks.
  • Created 2D engineering drawings and Bill of Material using AS 1100.
